Popis To appraise the true quality of subject selection for case-control studies, the double genotype (I/D ACE and M235T AGT) was chosen because of its association with Type A Behavior Pattern (TABP) score (p=0.0299. The genotypes with opposite values of TABP score IIMT- 22.4 and DDMT-(-19.5) were found to be more frequent in the first hundred of subjects in two groups. The difference was stronger when data of both groups were calculated together (Group-1 + Group-2, p=0.0002). No significant difference was found between frequencies of genotype with opposite values of TABP score in any comparison of either two normotensive or three hypertensive groups. In practice, the number of 100 subjects in the group is considered to be sufficient for the gene association studies. Our results demonstrate that this assumption is wrong when subjects for genetic studies are recruited from one office.
